Learn the fundamentals of splint basketry. In this class, students will make a completed basket, gaining basic skills that open the way for more complicated basket work. An emphasis will be placed on learning how to use material tension and compression to create form.

Participants will make a small “cat head” style basket, learning how to measure, weave, form, and finish a basket in the process.

Class fee includes rattan splint, and weaver’s tools used in many of the covered techniques.
