PATTERN MAKER + SAMPLE HAND

Description

We are looking for a skilled pattern maker to create factory patterns for our small batch production arm. In this role you will be required to study and interpret technical design drawings and tech packs to engineer 2D paper patterns for in house production of apparel.  Looking for a candidate with technical experience in the following categories for men's and/or women's wear:

  • Tops, shirting 

  • Outerwear 

  • Intimates 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting tech packs, technical drawings/designs, and measurements.

  • Spec-ing garments 

  • Flat pattern drafting on paper for a variety of styles from scratch or from base pattern/sloper. 

  • Measuring, cutting, and designing patterns that meet all measurement and construction callouts. 

  • Double-checking the pattern dimensions and style for one's own work as well as walking other team member's patterns. 

  • Attend fittings, take detailed notes.  Translate fit adjustments to flat patterns accurately and efficiently. 

  • Translate design alterations to existing patterns.

  • Sampling client garments/patterns, mock-ups and prototypes

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding and experience on industrial sewing machines (serger, straight stitch, zig zag, pressing equipment)

  • Previous experience as a pattern maker.

  • Technical design experience - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tech packs.  Tech pack creation, garment spec'ing, etc. 

  • Fit experience 

  • Pattern drafting software experience is a plus, but not required. 

  • PLM experience is a plus, but not required. 

  • Strong knowledge of garment construction 

  • Sewing experience is a must. 

  • Ability to translate the ideas of clients and designers into reliable and repeatable patterns.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Willingness to share knowledge and skills with staff.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Part Time - - 24 hours/week - - $17.68/hour
